Pioneers Fall to Berea College 100-70
The Campbellsville University Harrodsburg Pioneers returned to action following the Christmas and New Year holiday, hosting Berea College at the CU Harrodsburg Athletic Facility. The Mountaineers defeated the Pioneers 100-70.
Jahnoi Lee led all Pioneers in scoring, knocking down four of his five three point field goal attempts en route to 18 points off the bench. Chris Rawlins followed with 16 points, while Kereion Douglas added 10 points. The Pioneers also found contributions from Warner Bryan (8 pts), Tyrese Duncan (5 pts) and Antwan Hurt (5 pts). Nakyir Joyce and Keelan Kennedy each added four points.
Turnovers were a big difference maker in the match up, as the Pioneers turned the ball over 16 times, leading to 25 points for the Mountaineers. Berea also controlled the post, outscoring CU Harrodsburg 38-22 in the paint and out rebounding the Pioneers 42-26.
The Pioneers cut into the lead several times in the second half, but ultimately could not regain the lead. CU Harrodsburg returns to the Whitaker Family Court on Saturday, January 7th, hosting Miami University - Middletown at 7 p.m.
