Jack Neely to join KHSBCA Hall of Fame

Longtime Taylor County assistant baseball coach Jack Neely is being inducted into the 2023 class of the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

His induction ceremony will take place in January at the annual convention.

Coach Neely played baseball at Franklin-Simpson High School and Campbellsville University. He joined Jeff Gumm’s staff at Taylor County in 1995 and remained with the program for an unprecedented 28 years until his retirement following the 2022 season.

Coach Neely served numerous roles during his tenure but most notably he occupied the first base coaches box for over 900 games. Taylor County’s record during his tenure with the program was 666-266 (.715 Winning Percentage).

The Cards never had a losing season during his career and won 13 District Titles and the only 2 Region Titles in school history to date. He was also part of a Region Runner Up team and 8 District Runner Up Teams. Coach Neely taught social studies at TCHS for his entire career and also served 14 years as Assistant Athletic Director. He was a valuable asset to Taylor County Baseball and Taylor County Schools and is a worthy recipient of this high honor.

Congratulations to Coach Jack Neely on your induction to the KHSBCA Hall of Fame!
