Douglas Surpasses 1,000 Points in 75-67 Win at Simmons

Kereion Douglas led the Pioneers with 24 points Monday night at Simmons College, as CUH defeated Simmons College 75-67.

Douglas joined the 1,000 career point club in the effort, reaching the milestone with a three point field goal in the first half. He joins Antoine Darby, Tyron Duncan and Chris Rawlins as the only members of the 1,000 point club for Men's Basketball. For Douglas, the moment was significant. As a Louisville native, many of his friends and family were able to be in attendance.

"So much love, I can't thank everyone enough for coming," Douglas said. "It really means a lot to me."

Douglas was 8-13 from the field, including 4-7 from three point range. Chris Rawlins and Keelan Kennedy each added 22 points, as Douglas, Kennedy and Rawlins would combine for 68 of the 75 total points for the Pioneers.

Efficiency was the key to the victory, as the Pioneers knocked down 21 of their 27 attempts at the free throw line, forced seven steals and limited their turnovers.

The Pioneers are now on the final stretch of the 2022 calendar year, as they prepare for a final set of road games in the coming days before heading home for Christmas.

CUH will celebrate Douglas's 1,000 point milestone on Wednesday evening during the team's 2022 National Championship ring ceremony at the CU Harrodsburg Athletic Facility at 7 p.m.
