Our community's momentum just keeps building. Somerset-Pulaski County has once again posted a banner year in tourism revenue, generating $137.8 million in 2021 — $11 MILLION HIGHER than the previous record set in 2019.
Nearly 150 law enforcement executives from across the state gathered in Somerset Aug. 7-11 for the 50th annual Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police training conference, traditionally hosted in the community where the rising executive board president serves as chief of police.
This afternoon, Mayor Eddie Thomas along with Council-members, Sherry Bottom-Daniel & Tom Holt, Police Chief Tim Pierce, Assistant Police Chief Bryan Shepard, and Lieutenant Robert Pritchard attended the Police Academy Graduation of Officers Mason Miniard & Brenton Llane. Mr. Miniard & Mr. Llane are graduates of Basic Training Class 529.
